Spotlight on Agatha Christie

The name Agatha Christie is synonymous with British detective mysteries, and for good reason. The Queen of Crime set the standard for the genre in more than 100 novels, plays and dozens of short stories.

She created two iconic detectives along the way, the fastidious tisane-sipping Belgian Hercule Poirot and the nosy English spinster Miss Jane Marple.

No one came close to matching her knack for weaving clues into her stories. Yet Agatha Christie was always a very private person, and though her detectives became household names, the Queen of Crime was a complete enigma to all but her closest friends.
