Ghost in the Water (DVD)
BBC's mysterious vintage ghost story for all the family adapted by BAFTA-winner Geoffrey Case from Edward Chitham's spooky novel.
First shown by the BBC on New Year's Eve in 1982 and directed by Renny Rye, known for supernatural thriller Box of Delights and other mysteries such as Agatha Christie's Poirot and Midsomer Murders.
When teenager Tess is possessed by a woman from 1860 over a century after her death, and begins experiencing memories that are not her own, she and her classmate David investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
The authorities recorded the death as a suicide, a mortal sin leading to the woman's spirit living on through Tess in distress. Tess and David must prove the death was an accident to finally allow the woman's soul to be put to rest, and free Tess from her nightmarish visions.
Includes a bonus special promotional feature from Blue Peter about the film (1982).
