Michael Palin revisits his groundbreaking travel programmes, and fans, including David Attenborough and Joanna Lumley, reflect on his achievement.

Michael Palin revisits his travel series, beginning with Around the World in 80 Days. He draws on his personal archive of audio recordings and diary notebooks, and reflects on how he became a seasoned global traveller. The first episode revisits his visits to Venice, Cairo, Saudi Arabia, India, Hong Kong and China - a nation that was closed to most westerners at the time. Featuring contributions from fans and friends including David Attenborough, Joanna Lumley and Simon Reeve.

Subsequent episodes sees Palin revising Pole to Pole, in which he travelled along a single line of longitude across the USSR, Africa and finally into Antarctica.

He recalls the making of his third travel series Full Circle, a journey around the Pacific Rim which took him to Russia, China, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand and North and South America.

In the final episode, Michael reflects on his fourth travel series, exploring the Sahara.
