Farewell to Honor Blackman

The British actress, whose film, TV and stage career spanned over six decades, first shot to fame as leather-clad Cathy Gayle in ITV's 1960s TV drama The Avengers. Not long after, in 1964, she became a global hit as Bond girl Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, a role that would always link Honor with 1960s glamour! Three decades later, Blackman went on to become a popular TV fixture as Laura Wet in ITVs romantic sitcom The Upper Hand.

Before achieving global stardom, she was celebrated for many fine performances in films including the 1958 Titanic docudrama A Night to Remember, and the Norman Wisdom comedy The Square Peg.

After her Bond success, Blackman went on to star in  the Western Shalako (1968), The Virgin and the Gypsy (1970) and the horror film Fright (1971) – and even in Bridget Jones' Diary in 2001.
