Clive Peacock (James Bolam) is a cheerful Postie living in a small seaside Dorset town. He loves his job, and doesnt want it to change, which has always previously been simple: real people, real post, real customer service.
But when new technologies are introduced in his sorting office that threaten his livelihood, Clive is defiant not to be forced in to early retirement. On his last day he makes one final attempt to protest, and prove his worth.
Clive sets out on an ambitious mission, vowing to deliver every single letter in his last post by hand. He cycles all over Britain to give his customers their letters face to face. However, Clives noble quest has the police on his toes.
Amid growing concerns about jobs being taken over by robots and new technologies in the future, this film is a hugely relevant reminder of the power of a humans touch.
