The four-part drama is set in the last years of the monarch’s reign, and covers her affair with Grigory Potemkin. Amic scandal, intrigue and conflict this is a story of a remarkable woman and an obsessive love.

Unable to publicly marry and famously promiscuous, they developed a unique and devoted relationship, overcoming their adversaries and together shaping Russia as we know it today.
