Trevor Nunn directs and Judi Dench stars in this melodrama inspired by the real-life KGB agent Melita Norwood.

Dench is impeccable as the fictional Joan Stanley, a Cambridge physics student who was arrested for treason after falling for a sexy communist in 1938 and giving him top-secret information.

In her defence, she argued that she fed him the secret information because she wants all nations to be on a level playing field as regards nuclear power.
