The film follows the experiences of a group of elderly Brits, who arrive ready to take up residence in a newly opened retirement home, located in Bangalore, India. Despite a glossy publicity campaign, the Marigold turns out to be a world away from the refurbished luxury hotel that appeared in all the brochures. First appearances can be deceptive however, and it soon begins revealing some unexpected charms of its own.
