Branch Lines of Worcestershire (DVD)
Explore the varied railway landscape of Worcestershire.
Eminent railway author and historian Colin Maggs takes you on a tour of the line, in a programme packed with superb modern footage, rare historical photographs and archive film.
These routes range from long-closed rural routes, and parts of the Severn Valley Railway – now one of the country’s longest preserved lines – to what were once main lines, such as that between Droitwich and Lye.
At the other end of scale are those which have always been branches, like the one from Stourbridge Junction to Stourbridge Town, allegedly the smallest in Europe.
The DVD includes a special report on the recent extension of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’s line to the pretty Worcestershire town of Broadway.
