When a body is found on a mountain pass in the Alps near the the German-Austrian border, two detectives are sent to investigate. Thrilling German crime drama.

German commissioner Ellie Stocker and Austrian inspector Gedeon Winter are sent to carry out their investigation, but soon discover that the brutal murder appears to have been ritualistic in nature and may lead to findings of more bizarre and ruthless killings.

Ellie finds herself under increasing pressure to understand the deranged killer's motives in order to stop further murders. The hunt leads them ever deeper in the dark valleys archaic Alpine customs, and the paranoid world of the killer.
