Fred: Complete Series (including Fred Dibnah Steeplejack) (DVD)
Fred Dibnah's complete BBC Series Fred, plus the BAFTA-winning documentary Fred Dibnah: Steeplejack.
TV Personality and steeplejack Fred Dibnah's life changed the day he was first shown on local television news in 1978, repairing Bolton's town hall clock at 250 feet, winning over the public with his loveable and kind nature.
With his signature cloth cap and infectious cheeky grin, Fred Dibnah quickly became a frequent television personality and a fond favourite of the nation. He shocked audiences by demolishing chimneys with ease, casually navigating dangerous chimney tops with a huge toothy smile on his face.
Enthusiastic Fred became one of the most in demand TV pundits and speakers on industrial history, the industrial revolution and mechanics, especially if it related to one of his greatest passions: steamrollers and steam engines.
Fred Dibnah was awarded an MBE in 2003 for services to heritage and broadcasting, the year after he demolished his last chimney. He was already serverly ill with kidney cancer when he arrived at Buckingham Palace to collect it, in his favourite steam traction engine called Betsy. The nation's favourite steeplejack left us in November 2004.
Now for the first time on DVD together the 8 episode 1982 BBC television series Fred, alongside the BAFTA winning 1980 documentary that would become Fred Dibnah first commissioned television project, Steeplejack.
