Not In Front Of The Children was the first of many sitcoms where Wendy Craig played a strained and scatter-brained mother. 

It was so successful, she won a BAFTA for her iconic performance of the struggling but much-loved mum, and would go on to play similar roles as the housewife in other later series such as And Mother Makes Three, and become a firm favourite in the nation's hearts as mother in Carla Lane's Butterflies. 

Jennifer Corner is married to arts teacher Henry (played by Paul Daneman and later Ronald Hines) and battles the everyday challenges brought by raising three troublesome young children. 

Of the 4 series and 38 episodes that were made, only 8 now survive, and are presented together here for the first time. 

Winner of the 1969 BAFTA for Best Actress (Wendy Craig) and nominated for the 1970 BAFTA for Best Light Entertainment.
