Junior Doctor Ruby Walker (Amrita Acharia) has fled the cold, grey and gloomy climes of England following a broken relationship. Having taken a job in a hospital in South India  and anticipating  sunshine, palm trees, sacred cows and tuk-tuks, what she doesn't expect is everything to be under-resourced at Good Karma Hospital.
