Peter Barkworth, Adrian Dunbar, Harriet Walter and a young Susanna Reid star in Channel 4's stylish, edgy BAFTA-nominated drama.
Set during The Troubles, terror and finance collide in Northern Ireland.
Geoffrey Carr (Peter Barkworth) is a wealthy, important player in Britains growing computer industry during the 80s, and newly married to Frances (Harriet Walter), a much younger woman, with lively daughter Clare (Susanna Reid) from a previous marriage.
Hell do anything to make them happy, including stretching his finances to buy a Georgian estate in County Wicklow, where Frances grew up.
Frank Crossan (Derek Thompson) is an Irish Republican hitman on the run from British authorities. In hiding with old girlfriend Kate (Aingeal Grehan), he creates a plan to kidnap a wealthy Brit for a ransom to fund a major arms deal.
Their two worlds intertwine when Frances and Clare are brutally stolen away to a dark hideaway and taken hostage.
Geoffrey initially wants to accept the kidnappers demands, but nothing is so easy when a personal crisis occurs against the forces of political intrigue, high finance and with the glare of the media on them.
