A lawyer is questioned at the police station to sort out a few loose ends in his witness report of a foul murder. From what was only supposed to be ten minutes of questions it turns out to be one loose end after another. Starring Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman.

It's festival time in Puerto Rico but three young women have been discovered dead and the killer is still out there somewhere. Harry Hearst is a wealthy and well-respected lawyer who finds one of the bodies and is subsequently requested by police chief Victor Benezet to aid with his enquiries. However, Hearst soon finds himself being given the third degree by Detective Owen who beats him down over his private life and specifically about his relationship with his young and very attractive wife Chantal, who is almost thirty years younger. Quickly a lot of surprising discoveries conspire to make Hearst the key suspect in the murder case.
